‘No matter how rich or poor a person is, the law is equal for all and no one will be spared. I have ordered strict action,’ Shinde stated

In his first comments on the Pune Porsche accident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday said that nobody would be spared and that strict action had been taken.

“No matter how rich or poor a person is, the law is equal for all and no one will be spared. I have ordered strict action,” the Maharashtra Chief Minister stated.

Shinde also stated that he has been in contact with the Pune police commissioner since day one.

“I have been in touch with the Pune police commissioner since day one. I have said right from the beginning that, irrespective of how influential the person is, there should be no discrimination,” he added.

Shinde’s comments followed Congress’ Maharashtra President Nana Patole’s call for the resignation of the chief minister and his deputies, alleging a nexus between the police, politicians, and affluent individuals in the state, NDTV reported.
